What are you most excited about for this year as a Shoemaker Scholar?
In the coming year, my enthusiasm is piqued by the prospect of discovering and championing new resources throughout the IU campus. My aim is to delve into the wealth of resources beyond the confines of Kelley and Luddy and to weave the spirit of entrepreneurship throughout the fabric of our campus.
What innovative or entrepreneurial projects are you immersing yourself in this year?
My entrepreneurial journey this year is characterized by an unwavering commitment to my startup venture, Squib. This innovative micro-internship platform empowers student and employers to find the perfect fit. This endeavor, which began after selling my startup, Theia, has been a testament to my curiosity and my refusal to cease exploring and iterating. I am eager to navigate this year’s challenges with my team and to propel Squib to new heights.
What’s your advice for IU students regarding innovation and entrepreneurship?
Embrace a mindset of exploration and resilience. Innovation is not just a spark but a flame that needs constant fueling. Keep your eyes wide with curiosity, engage relentlessly with the world around you, and never shy away from the unknown. Conversations with diverse individuals can lead to serendipitous insights. Remember, the nexus of the right place, time, and people can turn a simple idea into something extraordinary.
