What are you most looking forward to this year in the Shoemaker Scholars? What is one thing you hope to accomplish?
I am really looking forward to expanding my professional network amongst students, administrators, and faculty who have a passion for innovation. Interacting with a diverse group of people can be a powerful way to develop a greater perspective for the world of entrepreneurship and the challenges it is attempting to address. Developing such connections also presents opportunities for mutual support and encouragement.
I am hoping to further encourage entrepreneurial thinking among my peers in the Jacobs School of Music. The music industry is an environment with both severe challenges and rare opportunities. Helping musicians to utilize advances in technology and innovation theory to solve the problems they face will mean the proliferation of more successful musicians and the strengthening of the industry overall.
What innovative or entrepreneurial projects are you working on this year?
RidePool – a carpool application for my home country of Bermuda and other markets that highly regulate private transportation offerings.
What’s one piece of advice you have for IU students with regard to innovation and entrepreneurship?
Learn how to question every assumption underlying your idea or business.
